An inquiry will be held into the death of a child sex beast at Barlinnie Prison.
John Harrison died a the jail less than a year into an eight year stretch for carrying out a string of sickening attacks on seven boys and girls over four decades.
A preliminary hearing of the Fatal Accident Inquiry (FAI) into the 73-year-old's death will be held at Glasgow Sheriff Court next month, two years after he was convicted for the horrific offences.
The pervert had denied the catalogue of charges, including the rape of a little girl, at various locations in Greenock from the 1960s to the 1990s, with victims as young as four.
But a jury saw through his lies and returned guilty verdicts on the 10 charges, including lewd and libidinous conduct and rape, following a trial at Glasgow High Court in June 2019.
Jailing him at the time judge Andrew Cubie told Harrison he was guilty of “calculated and predatory sexual abuse”, adding: “You express no acceptance for the offending.
"You maintain there was some kind of conspiracy or that they were motivated by some form of financial claim.”
According to prison records Harrison died of natural causes on April 10 last year.
A FAI is mandatory when a prisoner dies in custody.
