'Barkley replacement' - Chelsea fans love Conor Gallagher's latest exploits on loan at Charlton

Chelsea youngster Conor Gallagher is making a big impression at Charlton Athletic so far this season.

The 19-year-old is on a season long loan at the Championship club, and is certainly a popular figure at the Valley, having scored five goals and provided two assists from midfield in 12 league appearances so far this season.

His latest goal came in Saturday's win over Frank Lampard's former club, Derby County, Gallagher bagged the Addicks' third goal in the 3-0 victory vs the Rams, finding the top corner from 25 yards.

Mason Mount, Fikayo Tomori and Reece James all spent last season on loan at Championship clubs and have impressed at Stamford Bridge this season, having been given a chance to shine by Blues' boss Frank Lampard.

Both Mount and Tomori have been key parts of the team from the early part of the season, while James recovered from an injury that he picked up over the summer to make his Premier League debut as a substitute in the 1-0 win over Newcastle United on Saturday.

Chelsea fans are now hoping that Gallagher will follow a similar path to his teammates next season, and his latest goal for his loan club has raised the excitement over his potential another notch.

And Blues' supporters have already identified the player who could be replaced by the teenager.

Gallagher will have the chance to add to his tally when Charlton take on Bristol City at Ashton Gate on Wednesday evening.
