Bargain Pringles hack that stops Christmas lights getting tangled labelled 'genius'

The nation loves a hack, especially if it's fuss-free and affordable.

So, for the households yet to take down their festive decorations and Christmas tree, this one's for you.

While it's very easy to box things away and shove them in the attic until next year, we all know the feeling of opening them again when Christmas comes around only to find a tangled mess.

One woman has revealed how to avoid the above with a handy and frankly genius way to keep Christmas fairy lights knot-free, reports Manchester Evening News .

The affordable hack uses nothing but an empty Pringles tube and was shared on the Facebook group, Extreme Couponing and Bargains .

In a discussion about tips for taking down Christmas decorations she wrote:  "Discovered a bargain way to keep your lights untangled.

"I taped the lid on an empty tube of Pringles. Taped the end of the lights to one end. Wrapped the lights round as I took the lights off the tree.

"Taped the other end on. Works perfectly."

Her tip quickly racked up over 2,500 likes online, with many praising the "genius" method.

"Love this idea!!!!!" wrote one fan.

Another added: "Ohhhh that’s a good reason to go buy Pringles."

And a third revealed they'd copied the trick after seeing the post: "Thank you! We used this top tip today."
