Bargain holiday home goes on the market for £125,000 - but it's made from bamboo

A bargain holiday home newly built in Hawaii is up for sale for an amazing £125,000 and comes complete with amazing views.

With homes in the area averaging a million dollars - approximately £735,000 - this unusual property won't be on the market for long.

The bamboo shack has just one bedroom, at a modest 100 square feet, and also features a kitchen, bathroom, living area and staircase.

On the upper level is an outdoor veranda, said to be “great for dining, relaxing and enjoying the fresh ocean air.”

The entire property is sat on a quarter-acre site and surrounded by plants and fruit trees including papayas, bananas, avocado and aloe vera, perfect for a relaxing getaway.

It is also just a five minute drive to the beach.

Ivory Kalber, who is looking after the listing for eXp Realty, told The Post in the US : "It’s a super unique property located near the quaint town.

"Would be perfect for any buyer looking to live off the grid.

"Maybe someone looking for a change wants to live closely with the land and enjoy beautiful views.”

“It’s a real opportunity for someone that wants a lifestyle change,” Ms Kalber added.

“Someone who wants to live sustainably and green.”

The electricity is solar-powered with a “Photo-Voltaic System” that comes with six panels and six brand new batteries.

The listing notes that the “seller has had no issues powering the lights, radio, refrigerator, water pump, etc".

The home also features a “Water Catchment system”, with the listing stating: "the seller has never run out, although additional water delivery services is also available".

Ms Kalber added that she helped the current owner buy the land about a year ago.

He built the home from scratch and is now moving to Portugal so wants to sell up.
