Barclays has become the latest big name in business to sign up as a sponsor for next week’s Tech Expo Humber.
The high street bank will use the major tech conference, taking place at Hull’s Bonus Arena on October 1 and 2, to showcase its work providing support for start-ups and high-growth businesses.
David Summerbell, manager at Barclays Hull Eagle Lab, will speak at the expo about the work of the Lab and the help it has given to some of the region’s tech firms.
He said: “The success of our partnership with C4DI has worked because it shares the same DNA as Barclays Eagle Labs.
“It's about creating an ecosystem for innovation - helping traditional businesses innovate and tech companies to grow.
“I’m thrilled to be able to highlight how our collaboration is working with great success to a wider audience.”

Launched in 2018, Hull’s Eagle Lab is a partnership between the C4DI and Barclays.
Designed to help entrepreneurs scale up their businesses, it has also provided a space for tech firms to meet and collaborate.
Located on the ground floor of the C4DI building in Hull, the Lab offers co-working incubator spaces, flexible workspaces and membership packages.
Antonio Tombanane, MD at GBIT Recruitment Ltd and Tech Expo Humber founder, said: “We are delighted to have Barclays on board as our silver partner, their total commitment to technology and education makes them a suitable partner for Tech Expo Humber.”
Mr Summerbell will be joined on the stage by Sarah Worthy, a Barclays AI Eagle.
Sarah will share more about Barclays AI Frenzy events and what Barclays is doing to help the UK accelerate the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence technologies.
More than 800 students and 1,000 business figures have registered to attend the Tech Expo Humber next week.
Cutting-edge tech businesses from across the region will showcase their innovations and inventions at the expo.
Big-name speakers already announced for the expo include Steven Dickens, global sales leader at tech giant IBM, Twitter Europe’s vice president Bruce Daisley and Reach Plc’s chief digital officer Steve Rogers.
Businesses from across Hull and beyond will showcase at the expo, with the city’s C4DI tech hub set to play a starring role.
Companies on show from C4DI include wearable health tech firm Moodbeam and NFire Labs - a 3D printing and digital fabrication business which will endorse the ever-growing importance of digital manufacturing.
