Barcelona want swift Andre Gomes transfer resolution but insist valuation of Everton target must be met

Barcelona are keen on a quick sale of Everton target Andre Gomes to help bring in funds for their summer spending.

The Blues are in a race with West Ham United for the 25-year-old who spent last season on loan at Goodison.

As reported last week, Tottenham Hotspur have cooled their interest in Gomes to pursue different targets.

West Ham are believed to have made a bid of £20m this week but Barca want closer to £30m for a player deemed surplus to requirements at the Nou Camp.

Gomes, it is understood, has still yet to make to firm decision on where he wants to be next season but Everton remain favourites to land the Portugal international who played 29 times for the Blues last season.

Concluding a deal before the clubs return for pre-season training next month would suit all parties with Barca eager to press ahead with their rebuilding plans after missing out on the Champions League this term.

Everton boss Marco Silva has made no secret of the importance of retaining Gomes this summer, insisting the Blues must do "everything" to sign him permanently.

Silva also wants to turn Kurt Zouma's loan into a permanent switch.
