Barcelona 'want Man City star Raheem Sterling to replace Ousmane Dembele' and more transfer rumours

Barcelona are 'weighing up' a move for Raheem Sterling this summer, according to reports.

It looks set to be a significant summer transfer window for Manchester City as they aim to bounce back from the Champions League final defeat and replace Sergio Aguero.

A number of key players are also being linked with a move away from the Etihad and none more surprising than Sterling.

Although the forward endured a difficult season and saw himself slip down Pep Guardiola's pecking order, he remains an important player to the club and still contributed 26 goals and assists last term.

Yet, after being linked with a move to Arsenal last week, Spanish giants Barcelona are the latest team to apparently show interest in Sterling.

The cash-strapped Catalonians have mainly been recruiting free agents this summer - such as Aguero and Eric Garcia - but according to Sport, the club is confident that they will be able to raise funds for one big-name signing.

It's reported that Sterling's name is on the short-list as he is seen as an ideal replacement for Ousmane Dembele, should the Frenchman not renew his contract.

However, it's added that Barca are aware that his price tag would be too high for their budget, so some makeweight players would be needed to bring that fee down.

Meanwhile, yet another City star is being linked with a move to the Camp Nou in the shape of Aymeric Laporte.

The centre-back struggled for game time last season after losing his spot in the side to John Stones and Ruben Dias and has subsequently been linked with a departure.

AS say Barcelona are prepared to sell Clement Lenglet and Samuel Umtiti to fund a move for the 26-year-old, who they feel could be available this summer.
