Barcelona vs Liverpool player ratings as Lionel Messi lights up Nou Camp

Lionel Messi starred as Barcelona ran out 3-0 winners against Liverpool in their Champions League semi-final, first leg clash.

Barca broke the deadlock in the 26th minute through Luis Suarez, who celebrated wildly against his former team.

The forward timed his run into the box to perfection and poked Jordi Alba's cross past Alisson Becker.

Messi grabbed a scrappy second after Suarez struck the bar and he was at it again in the 80th minute, scoring his 600th goal for Barcelona in stunning style.

The Argentinian curled a 25-yard free-kick round the wall and into the top corner to leave Liverpool facing an uphill battle in the tie.

The Reds almost grabbed a precious away goal, though, but substitute Roberto Firmino had a shot cleared off the line before Mohamed Salah hit the post from close range.
