Barcelona vs Getafe prediction: LaLiga 2019 lineups, odds, live stream, TV channel, tickets, h2h

Barcelona vs Getafe
LaLiga 2018-19
Venue: Camp Nou, Barcelona

Date: Sunday, May 12, 2019
Kick-off: 5:30pm BST, today

Barcelona must pick themselves up for their penultimate LaLiga game of the season as the Spanish champions host Getafe in what could be an anti-climactic atmosphere at Camp Nou.

Barca had looked on course for a treble-winning season after clinching LaLiga, but a spectacular Champions League collapse at Liverpool now leaves Ernesto Valverde in the unique position of quite possibly being sacked - even if he manages to complete a domestic double with a Copa del Rey triumph later this month.

There is far more at stake for Getafe today, who are looking to cap a fantastic second season back in the Spanish top flight with Champions League qualification.

Jose Bordalas' side sit three points ahead of Valencia and Sevilla with two games to play, though a defeat at Barcelona would allow Valencia to leapfrog them by virtue of head-to-head difference.

Barcelona team news and predicted line-up

Valverde could once again ring the changes. The Blaugrana lost 2-0 at Celta Vigo last time out as the coach rested key players for Liverpool, but that patently did not do the trick at Anfield.

Philippe Coutinho could start in what could be his farewell game at Camp Nou, with Barca determined to sell the Brazilian after two underwhelming seasons in order to raise transfer funds.

Luis Suarez is out of action, with the striker also set to miss the Copa del Rey final after undergoing knee surgery. Ousmane Dembele is also set to miss out after yet another injury.

Valverde could offer another opportunity to second-string players such as Malcom and Kevin-Prince Boateng as well as youngsters Jeison Murillo, Jean-Clair Todibo, Moussa Wague, Carles Alena and Riqui Puig.

Barcelona XI: Ter Stegen, Semedo, Pique, Umtiti, Alba, Busquets, Puig, Arthur, Coutinho, Malcom, Messi

Liverpool v Barcelona: Champions League semi-final preview

Score prediction: Barcelona 2-2 Getafe

Barca certainly have the quality to see off Getafe, but the visitors could well have more drive with a Champions League spot at stake.

If Lionel Messi starts, he can win any game on his own - but if Barca are sluggish after their Anfield woes, Getafe could seize a result which would cap a fine campaign.

Head to head (h2h) history and results

Barca have yet to lose to Getafe at home, winning nine times and drawing four of their 13 meetings at Camp Nou.

Messi has 16 goals in 10 games against Getafe, including the effort which was recently voted by Barca fans as the club's best ever strike, as the Argentine ran from the halfway line to score in their 2006-07 Copa del Rey clash.
