Barcelona vs Chelsea: Prediction, kick-off time, TV, live stream, team news, h2h results, odds today

Chelsea have a mountain to climb against Barcelona in a Women’s Champions League semi-final decider this evening.

While the scoreline stands at a slender 1-0 in favour of the dominant Catalan giants after Caroline Graham Hansen’s early scorcher at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, beating them at the Camp Nou is a truly daunting prospect for Emma Hayes’ side.

They are huge underdogs to do so, but victory would potentially set up an all-English final, as Arsenal return to north London level with Wolfsburg in the other semi-final tie that concludes on Monday.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Barcelona vs Chelsea is scheduled for a 5:45pm BST kick-off tonight on Thursday April 27, 2023.

The match will take place at the Camp Nou in Barcelona.

Barcelona vs Chelsea team news

England and Barcelona full-back Lucy Bronze has undergone surgery for the knee problem she picked up in the first leg and will miss this game but is expected to be fit for this summer’s World Cup.

Alexia Putellas could potentially make her first appearance of the season tonight as she nears her return from an ACL injury suffered before last year’s European Championship. The two-time Ballon d’Or Feminin winner travelled with the squad to London for the first leg, but was not involved.

Millie Bright will once again be absent for Chelsea, with the defender still “weeks” away from a comeback from knee trouble, but Pernille Harder is pushing for a start after making her own return in the closing stages of the first leg.

Fran Kirby has travelled with the squad too but will play no part. Kadeisha Buchanan and Katerina Svitkova are also still sidelined.

Barcelona vs Chelsea prediction

Barcelona have scored 105 goals in winning all 25 of their league matches so far this season, conceding just five in the process to emphasise just how big the task facing Chelsea is.

The hosts will have the majority of possession, with it down to the Blues to be clinical when their chances do come in front of goal.

This Barcelona team looks too good to slip up though, particularly on home soil in front of more than 65,000 fans, and they can expect to ease into another Women’s Champions League final.

Barcelona to win 3-0, aggregate 4-0.

Head to head (h2h) history and results

Chelsea’s one-goal defeat at Stamford Bridge was an improvement on their last match against Barcelona.

The two teams also met in the 2021 Women’s Champions League final in Gothenburg, when the Spanish side scored all four goals in the opening 36 minutes as they cruised to a 4-0 victory.

Barcelona vs Chelsea match odds

Barcelona to win: 2/13
