Barcelona and Chelsea treated fans in Shanghai to a glimpse of their respective new signings as the two sides competed for the 2019 Rakuten Cup.
Antoine Griezmann made his debut for Barca having finally completed a protracted €120million move from Atletico Madrid, while there was a full debut for one of the Chelsea new boys as well.
Christian Pulisic agreed a deal to join Chelsea back in January, and Blues supporters were given a chance to see the USA star in action on his first full start for the club in China.
Tammy Abraham was also afforded a chance to impress in Lampard's starting XI, and made amends for a glaring miss by putting Chelsea ahead after 33 minutes.
Lampard sent his side out to press Barca high up the pitch, and the tactic worked to perfection as the Blues caught out the Spanish champions at the back before Abraham coolly rounded Marc-Andre ter Stegen to finish.
Frenkie de Jong also made his Barca debut off the bench at half-time, but had a quiet half as Ross Barkley went on to double Chelsea's lead with nine minutes left on the clock.
Despite a late Ivan Rakitic consolation goal, Chelsea ran out 2-1 winner - and the result will boost the Blues' confidence ahead of the new season.
