Barcelona use Kevin Kyle in bizarre social media celebration post

Barcelona are one of the world's biggest football clubs and boast an enviable 69 million followers on Instagram.

Supporters across the world tune in for their daily fix of what Lionel Messi and his team-mates are up to.

But fans with a knowledge of the Scottish game would have been caught off guard as former Rangers and Hearts striker Kevin Kyle made an appearance after the win against Alaves.

The 2-0 triumph means Barcelona are closing in on a third title in four seasons and the ex-Scotland international was front and centre of the celebrations as Barca used an emoji of Kyle roaring with the caption "YAS".

The forward retired in 2014 after briefly playing for Newton Stewart but Kyle now has a whole new audience after being featured by one of the world's biggest clubs.

Social media is big business in the world of sport and the Catalan giants often make their own emoji stickers to celebrate a big win.

The 37-year-old will be able to tell his friends about the time he starred alongside Luis Suarez (well, sort of).
