Welcome to the latest edition of the City Is Ours daily round-up, where we run through some of the most eye-catching stories from the past 24 hours.
Saturday's goalless draw with Southampton reignited the debate surrounding City's striking options. For those of you who think the club need to bring in a goalscorer, the exploits of one potential target in Portugal may be of interest.
Barcelona aren't having a great time of it at the moment., but Joan Laporta has given fans something to be positive about - he wants to bring back a legendary former manager.
Speculation surrounding Raheem Sterling's future at the club is growing after he failed to make the most of a rare start at the weekend, and former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand thinks he knows exactly what Sterling should do...
Guardiola's future
As has been well documented, Pep Guardiola has just under two years left on his current City contract.
Back in August, he flirted with the idea of moving into international management in 2023 before quickly backtracking on his comments. Now, it appears that Barcelona president Laporta is preparing to make the City boss an offer he cannot refuse.
According to El Nacional, Laporta is doing "everything in his power" to convince the former Barça player and coach to return to Camp Nou. Between 2008 and 2012, Guardiola helped develop a Barcelona side widely regarded as one of the greatest club sides of all time, but he's always insisted that his story with Barcelona is a thing of the past.
However, given the growing frustration of Barça fans with current manager Ronald Koeman coupled with Guardiola's recent spat with City supporters surrounding match attendances, perhaps a return to Catalonia isn't out of the question.
Darwin at the double
City might have struggled to score goals at the weekend, but one of their transfer targets certainly didn't.
Given the complexities surrounding potential deals for Harry Kane and Erling Haaland, City have started to monitor other potential targets.

Benfica youngster Darwin Nunez is one of said targets, and on Monday night he showed just why City rate him so highly.
The 22-year-old striker scored a brace for the second game running as Benfica saw off Boavista 3-1 to extend their unbeaten start to the season.
Nunez, who the Portuguese giants signed from Almeria last year for £21million, struggled to adapt during his first season at the club, but four goals in four games so far this campaign will ensure City continue to monitor his progress.
City have a good relationship with Benfica given the successful transfers of Ederson and Ruben Dias, so if Nunez keeps up his current form the two sides could look to do business once again.
Shock move for Sterling?
It's no secret that Sterling hasn't enjoyed the best of years at City. Last season he lost his place in Guardiola's starting XI to Phil Foden, and he now finds himself behind Jack Grealish in the pecking order.
He was afforded a rare start for City on Saturday in the number nine role, though he failed to impress on a frustrating afternoon as Guardiola's men failed to register a shot on target until the 90th minute.
Speaking on his Vibe with Five podcast, Ferdinand said that City's Premier League rivals should be preparing to make a move for the England star.
“If I’m Liverpool, I’d buy Sterling tomorrow … If I’m him, I wouldn’t go to Barcelona or Real Madrid right now, that’s why I said Liverpool... Man United will take him," he said of Sterling's future.
I can't imagine that opinion is going to go down too well with City fans.
