Barcelona transfer plans confirmed by president amid Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang interest

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has confirmed the club are working on bringing in a striker this month.

The La Liga giants are desperate for attacking reinforcements with Luis Suarez ruled out until the end of the season with injury.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is a target for Barcelona although they concede it is unlikely a deal can be agreed this month.

Valencia striker Rodrigo is another option for Barca and Bartomeu confirmed his name is 'on the table of the coaches'.

"We don't talk about players from other teams," the Barcelona president continued.

"A replacement will arrive. I do not know whether it will be from Barcelona B or from outside. I like many players."

Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta has warned Barcelona off making a bid for Aubameyang.

The striker has another 18 months remaining on his current deal and Arsenal may consider letting him go at the end of the season for the right price.

After his side's FA Cup success over Bournemouth, Arteta said: "‘I want Auba here 100 per cent.

"I’m so happy with him and I can’t wait to have him available again after suspension."

Aubameyang will return from suspension when Arsenal face off against Burnley this weekend.

Goals from Bukayo Saka and Eddie Nketiah secured the Gunners' place in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
