Two trains collided near Barcelona early Wednesday and several dozen people were hurt, Spanish officials said.
Emergency services for Catalonia said that 150 people were in a "mild condition" while five others were left in a "less serious condition".
Three people have been taken to hospital for treatment as a precaution, it added.
Officials say that the collision occurred on a train line in Montcada i Reixac, a town just north of Barcelona.
Ester Capella, the Catalan government's representative in Madrid, told Spanish National Radio that officials were studying the incident.
According to the fire department, the train has already been fully evacuated and seven rescue crews remain at the scene.
Other emergency responders are transporting those injured into ambulances.
Speaking with local radio station RAC1, one passenger said "[The] train was full and my carriage, which was the last one, was completely full" when the collision happened.
No one was trapped in the crashed carriages.
Civil protection authorities in Catalonia confirmed: "150 people [are] in a mild condition and 5 in a less serious condition."
When the collision happened, one train coming into the station crashed into a parked carriage.
Some witnesses said a woman had fallen due to the impact, which left her with a head wound.
According to Catalunya Radio, medical professionals were able to reach the woman and give her treatment.
The passenger who spoke to local media also said the other train was travelling at a very slow speed.
“We were waiting for the train and we heard a crash, the stationary train moved two metres and stopped. Many people have fallen from the impact because the train was very full”, one passenger told Ser Catalunya.
Images from the scene showed massive queues of people awaiting treatment from paramedics.
"They let us all down. Now everyone is off the train, there are people taking trains back."
Images show queues of people waiting to be attended to by ambulance crews, but thankfully thus far there have been no reports of serious injuries.
Train operator Renfe has said it will launch an investigation.
Earlier this year, a tourist train in Mallorca crashed after the driver flipped the carriage driving around a bend - leaving at least 11 people injured.
Holidaymaker Jill Saunders, 49, was in the middle carriage when the road train crashed while travelling up a steep hill in Cala d’Or yesterday.
The vehicle was travelling at speed and just as it reached a bend, one of the wheels hit the kerb and the resort train overturned.
Several passengers were then thrown from the vehicle sparking mass panic, and police arrived quickly on the scene.
Numerous ambulances arrived to attend to the injured - but not until around an hour after the crash took place.
