Barcelona team news: Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez back in training ahead of derby against Espanyol

Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez both trained on Wednesday as Barcelona prepare for Saturday's Catalan derby against Espanyol in LaLiga.

The Argentine attacker returned from international duty after aggravating a muscle problem in last Friday's 3-1 defeat to Venezuela in Madrid, which saw him miss Tuesday's 1-0 win over Morocco.

But the five-time Ballon d'Or winner, who returned to Barcelona on Saturday, trained normally with his team-mates on Wednesday and is in line to start Saturday's derby at Camp Nou.

Suarez also took part in some of the session on Wednesday, having trained alone the previous day.

The Uruguay striker was injured in the 4-1 win at Betis prior to the international break and was expected to be out for two weeks.

The former Liverpool forward will be monitored in the coming days and if he continues to make good progress, the 32-year-old could also start the game against Espanyol.
