Barcelona suffer Neymar transfer blow after two-man delegation spend full day of intense face-to-face talks

Barcelona spent a full day of face-to-face talks in an attempt to land Neymar – but are still no nearer in getting the proposed transfer over the line.

The Catalan giants sent a two-man delegation of Éric Abidal and Javier Bordas for discussions on Tuesday with Paris Saint-Germain technical director Leonardo in the French capital.

But despite nearly 12 hours of talks, Barcelona have so far failed to tempt the Ligue 1 giants into getting a deal agreed, report RMC.

The Nou Camp giants tabled a similar offer to what was made last week – a cash bid of around €60million plus Philippe Coutinho.

However, Les Parisiens are still demanding more money. PSG let it be known at the start of the window they want nearer €200m.

In reality, the figure is likely to be somewhere in the middle between what Barca are offering now and what the French champions had initially asked for.

Neymar, meanwhile, continues to negotiate terms with La Liga side.

It has also been reported Coutinho was also in Paris for talks over a switch to PSG but RMC state this is untrue.

Gareth Bale – who was being offered as a makeweight by Real Madrid in their attempts to sign Neymar – is understood to have rejected the possibility of moving to France.

The widely-respected Transfer Window Podcast featuring Duncan Castles and Ian McGarry insist PSG would prefer to sell Neymar to Madrid.
