Barcelona stars 'furious' with assistant coach Eder Sarabia over actions in Real Madrid loss

Barcelona players are reportedly furious with their assistant manager for his gesticulations in the dugout during their 2-0 El Clasico defeat.

Eder Sarabia was caught on camera looking visibly angered by the display of the Barca players during the game at the Santiago Bernabeu - and this has infuriated the dressing room, according to Cadena Cope.

The report states that the players thought the words and gestures used by Quique Setien’s right-hand man were overly harsh.

Spanish TV channel Vamos caught the footage of Sarabia and then used lip-reading experts to reveal what the coach had been shouting.

After he failed to capitalise on an opportunity to score, he allegedly told Griezmann: "F****** hell, Antoine, stick it away!"

Barcelona had their cut of the chances in the first half, with most possession but no goals, and this only added to the Spaniard's frustrations.

On at least one occasion he shouted: "Shoot, for f***'s sake!" and his expressive touchline antics have been widely reported on in Spain. However it wasn't all bellowing from the coach.

Sarabia was able to identify that Karim Benzema was playing a pivotal role in sustaining Real's attack.

It's been interpreted that he said: "Our defensive line shouldn't be so far back, because they find more space [between the lines] and Benzema drops in and picks it up, and then they put us on the back foot.

"We need to limit those spaces."

Real bagged two goals in the second half, Vinicius Jr scoring a deflected goal before Mariano Diaz got the second in the dying embers of the game.

The loss to Real means Los Blancos are now in first position in La Liga, having leapfrogged their biggest rivals.

Sarabia has been the assistant of Setien since the pair met at Las Palmas, where they worked between 2015-17.

They worked together at Real Betis for two seasons before arriving at the Nou Camp in January, with so far some eyebrow-raising loses.
