Barcelona star 'unconvinced' with Manchester United transfer and is now 'considering' Newcastle United instead

Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal is looking for one last big move and is considering Newcastle United according to reports.

The 32-year-old has reportedly been left unconvinced with the project on offer at Manchester United but is open to a move to Tyneside should the club be taken over and former Juventus boss Max Allegri appointed.

Vidal and Allegri worked together at Juventus and Mundo Deportivo claim the midfielder is keen on reuniting with him.

Allegri has been strongly linked to the Newcastle job should the takeover headed up by Amanda Staveley, the Reuben Brothers and The Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia take place.

However, it is understood that current head coach Steve Bruce would not be instantly dismissed should a deal for the club be agreed.

The deal is currently with the Premier League as the organisation carries out the fit and proper test to vet the new directors.

The link to Vidal follows on from the similarly unlikely claim that his team-mate Antoine Griezmann is also on the radar of United's potential new owners.
