Barcelona new boy Frenkie de Jong has backed Paris Saint-Germain starlet Neymar to return to the club.
de Jong signed for Barcelona from Ajax earlier this summer in a £67.5million deal, signing a five-year deal at the Camp Nou.
The 22-year-old Dutch international impressed with his performances last season in the Champions League, helping Ajax to the semi-finals of the competition.
During an interview with Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo , de Jong spoke of Barca players past and present such as Sergio Busquets, fellow newbie Antoine Griezmann and Lionel Messi and those who had gone before like Dutch legend Johan Cruyff and Neymar Jr., he even spoke of old friend Matthijs de Ligt .
Speaking on whether he'd like to see Neymar at Barcelona next season he said: "It is not up to me to make the decision to sign him or not, but if I have to talk about Neymar as a player, I really enjoyed watching him play.
"He is one of the best in the world and of course I would be happy if I came to Barca."
The PSG winger has been heavily linked with a move back to Spain and has just finished hosting the Red Bull Neymar Jr's Five tournament in Sao Paulo in support of his charity the Neymar Junior Project Institute, where local teams participate in the football tournament.
In the same interview the youngster hailed Busquets in helping him settle with the club: "All the partners are supporting me but if I have to name one, I could say to Busquets, who is helping me with many things.
"When I need to know something about the city or the club, he helps me with everything."
When speaking about Messi, de Jong simply said: "For me, Messi is the best player in the world and I looked at him as a child."
