Ousmane Dembele will fly to Manchester with his Barcelona teammates on Tuesday but he remains a doubt for the Champions League last-16 first-leg meeting.
The Frenchman has been sidelined for the best part of a month with a hamstring problem but was included in Ernesto Valverde's 22-man travelling squad for the game, named on Monday afternoon.
He is expected to undergo a late fitness test to determine whether he will be available to play some part against United.
Speaking on Friday ahead of Barcelona's win against Atletico Madrid the following day, Valverde said he doesn't know if Dembele will be back in time to face United.
"He will not be there tomorrow for sure, we don’t know about Wednesday, we’re not used to taking risks, to avoid having bigger problems," said Valverde.
"We're around the expected three to four weeks [since he sustained the injury]. Yesterday he did a bit of training with the group and today we think he will too. Bit by bit he will be incorporated back into the group."
Rafinha and Thomas Vermaelen are the only senior Barcelona players currently sidelined through injury. Rafinha ruptured his cruciate knee ligaments in December while Vermalen is out with a thigh problem.
