Barcelona set to sell Malcom to Zenit Saint Petersburg in €45m deal

Barcelona are negotiating the sale of Brazilian winger Malcom with Russian side Zenit Saint Petersburg.

The 22-year-old was bought from Bordeaux last summer for a fee of €40 million, plus €1m in variables, and is now close to departing for a similar price.

Standard Sport understands Zenit are ready to pay €40m for the winger, plus an additional €5m in add-ons, with the player set to earn €6m a year in Russia.

Talks between the two clubs stepped up on Tuesday and have continued on Wednesday, although there are still some small details to be resolved before the transfer is completed.

Everton were also interested in Malcom, but the player preferred Zenit after reaching an agreement with the Russian Premier League champions.

The Brazilian found opportunities limited at Barca, featuring in just 24 games for the Catalan club last season.

He scored five goals, including one in the Clasico against Real Madrid at Camp Nou in the Copa del Rey in February.
