Barcelona 'set Philippe Coutinho price tag' - and it's less than they paid Liverpool

Philippe Coutinho has been made available for tranfer for a fee of €120million - which would represent a loss of €15m.

The forward is one of several players, including Ousmane Dembele, who could leave Barcelona so that the club can fund the return of Neymar.

And despite having paid €120m plus €15m in add-ons to date for Coutinho since his arrival from Liverpool last year, Barcelona are ready to sell for less, according to reports in Spain.

The Brazilian struggled to settle in Catalonia and admitted recently that his future lies away from the club.

But a return to Liverpool has been ruled out while the player himself will not join Chelsea or Manchester United .

Anfield boss Jurgen Klopp told ESPN: "In general, Phil Coutinho helps each team in the world, still – 100 per cent.

"It’s not about that. I like Phil, I think he’s a fantastic footballer and all that stuff, but it would be a big, big, big, big, big, big, big, big-money signing and it’s not our year for that.

"It's just not possible. As I said, having him would make each team better – us included – but I really hope that he finds his luck at Barcelona.

"Or maybe he found it there. We have contact, but not that close contact that I know exactly how he is doing, but the rest is only newspaper talk and stuff like that."

Coutinho's most likely destination is Paris Saint-Germain, perhaps in a player-plus-cash deal for Neymar who is desperate to return to the La Liga champions.

The forward has told the French club he wants to leave this summer and they have reluctantly agreed, assuming they recoup the huge €200m fee they paid Barcelona in 2017.
