Barcelona seal thrilling Copa del Rey comeback win over Sevilla at Camp Nou

Philippe Coutinho scored a brace as Barcelona beat Sevilla 6-1 at Camp Nou to seal a thrilling Copa del Rey comeback win over Sevilla to progress to the semi-finals.

Sevilla won the first leg of their quarter-final clash 2-0 to set up a grandstand second leg in Catalonia, with the likes of Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez returning for Ernesto Valverde's LaLiga leaders.

Coutinho - much-maligned this season - struck an 13th-minute penalty after Suarez was fouled, but the turning point of the game came at the other end of the pitch.

Sevilla were awarded a penalty in the 25th minute, but following a long delay, back-up goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen saved from Ever Banega - and Barca soon made it count.

Ivan Rakitic toe-poked the ball home five minutes after Sevilla's penalty was taken to draw Barca level 2-2 on aggregate and leave everything to play for in the second half.

Coutinho added his second of the game eight minutes after the restart with a diving header, and Barca were in full control two minutes later as Sergi Roberto shot low into the corner.

Guilherme Arana put Sevilla back in contention with 23 minutes remaining to leave Barca 4-2 in front in the tie, but late goals from Luis Suarez and - of course - Messi saw Barca win 6-1 on the night - 6-3 on aggregate - and send a warning to the rest of the Copa contenders.
