Barcelona right-back set for Man Utd transfer - and Spanish club are 'not happy'

Barcelona right-back Marc Jurado is set to sign for Manchester United after rejecting a new deal to stay in Spain, according to reports.

The La Liga giants were hoping to tie the 16-year-old down to a new contract, and were locked in negotiations with him for weeks.

Jurado was offered the chance to represent the Juvenil B squad and a was promised a big pay rise if he was to agree fresh terms.

But Jurado has opted against signing a new deal, and is now expected to put pen to paper with Manchester United.

The teenager will end his nine-year stay at Barcelona when he leaves.

According to Spanish publication Sport, the defender is keen to spend the next few seasons playing for Man United's youth team.

The report claims the youngster considers United's youth team to be stronger than Barcelona's, and therefore a better place to develop.

Jurado's decision has reportedly 'not gone down well' at Barcelona, who were hoping the youngster would be a part of the club's 'next generation'.

The Catalan giants have a number of talented youngsters coming through the ranks.

The club recently tied down the likes of Ansu Fati, Ilaix Moriba, Pablo Paez and Ilias Akhomach to new deals, and were hoping Jurado would follow suit.

Manchester United splashed out £50million on Aaron Wan-Bissaka in last summer's transfer window, and he is the club's first choice right-back.

Diogo Dalot is currently behind the Englishman in the pecking order at Old Trafford.
