Barcelona receive Neymar transfer kiss of life as Philippe Coutinho boost flips the signing script - latest rumours

Barcelona are back in the race to land Neymar after receiving a major transfer boost.

The La Liga giants have been forced to back off a move for the unhappy Paris Saint-Germain striker but could have their transfer kitty raised in the coming days.

That's because Bayern Munich are gearing up a big-money bid for Philippe Coutinho as the Bundesliga big boys look for some star power after missing out on Leroy Sane.

Coutinho, who was discussed as a potential makeweight to bring Neymar back to the Nou Camp, is desperate to end his 18-month stay in Catalonia and is hoping to secure an exit before the close of the German transfer window on August 25.

Neymar's No.1 choice is a return to the club he left in a £197million deal in 2017 and the Brazilian certainly isn't feeling the love in Paris after supporters revealed a banner hitting out at the unhappy star.

But Barcelona must stump up €200m as the Ligue 1 big-spenders remain adamant on the price tag for one of the world's premier players.

Real Madrid remain keen and their president Florentino Perez desperately searches for another marquee name to boost Zinedine Zidane's squad with Gareth Bale set to move on.

The Frenchman. however, raised eyebrows as he refused to comment on Neymar when directly asked over the weekend.

He said: "We are here with the squad that we have and we are only thinking about that."

Meanwhile, PSG boss Thomas Tuchel admits he would love to keep the mercurial forward - despite the furore surrounding his future.

The German said: "The reality is that we must find solutions without Neymar.

“It is not possible to lose Neymar and find another boy who does the same as him.

“I don't have news (about his future), it can be good news. He may stay. But it's not over, we have to be realistic.

"Things are between the PSG, Neymar and the other club.

"I love Neymar. If he leaves, I won't sleep."
