Barcelona prepare second transfer bid for Chelsea winger Willian

Barcelona are considering making a second bid for Willian after having an offer rejected by Chelsea last night.

The La Liga club have proposed a £50million deal which will see Malcom, whom they bought from Bordeaux for £38m last summer, going the other way.

Chelsea do not want to lose a player of Willian’s experience, though the 30-year-old has just 18 months left on his deal.

No talks are planned just yet, while the club have a policy of offering only 12-month deals to players in their 30s.

Coach Maurizio Sarri will certainly not want Willian to go. He has played in 30 of the club’s 32 matches this term, more than any other Chelsea player.

The Brazilian is in line to face Newcastle tomorrow, with Sarri desperate for a striker to solve their scoring woes.

The club are also struggling to keep hold of Callum Hudson-Odoi, following four bids from Bayern Munich.
