Barcelona 'prepare second offer for Man City defender Eric Garcia' and more transfer rumours

Barcelona are preparing a second transfer offer for Eric Garcia after their first was rejected by Manchester City, according to reports.

Despite enjoying a breakout season at City last year, Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Garcia doesn't want to sign a new contract with the club - with his current deal set to expire in 2021.

A return to Barcelona seems the most likely destination for the centre-back, after he left the famous La Masia academy to join City in 2017.

The Catalonians are keen on bringing Garcia back to the club this summer but are seemingly unwilling to match City's valuation for a player who has less than 12 months remaining on his contract.

According to Mundo Deportivo, via SportWitness, the Spaniard remains a 'great objective' for Barca and they are preparing a second bid after their first was turned down, but they won't go higher than €15million.

It's reported that the Blues are demanding €18million but Barcelona hope that they will lower their valuation to avoid losing the 19-year-old for nothing.

The report adds that Barcelona will be happy to wait until January, if a fee can't be agreed, when they can negotiate a pre-contract agreement to sign Garcia on a free the following summer.

Garcia, it's claimed, would also be willing to stay at the Etihad for another year because he knows he is rated highly by Guardiola.

Elsewhere, Nicolas Otamendi has reportedly given his approval to a move to Inter Milan.

The centre-back was already low on the City pecking order and has fallen even further following the arrival of Nathan Ake, with the club also wanting to bring in Kalidou Koulibaly.

La Repubblica say Inter will look to sign Otamendi for €5m, with the player taking a pay cut from his €7m contract at City to around €4m at the San Siro.

The report adds that Lazio and Porto are also after the 32-year-old.
