Barcelona predicted line-up vs Manchester United in the Champions League quarter-final second leg

Lionel Messi and Ousmane Dembele could partner Luis Suarez in Barcelona's forward line for the Champions League quarter-final second leg against Manchester United.

Messi suffered a bloodied nose and a swollen eyelid in the first leg at Old Trafford following a innocuous challenge by Chris Smalling, while Dembele made his first appearance in a month during Saturday's goalless draw at Huesca in La Liga.

Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde said both were in contention to start at the Camp Nou on Tuesday night as the Spanish champions look to extend their one-goal advantage and put the tie beyond United.

Ivan Rakitic was ruled out of Saturday's game with illness but is expected to return to the midfield against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side, along with Sergio Busquets - who was lucky not to be sent off at Old Trafford - and the former Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho.

Valverde made 10 changes to the side that started the first leg for the game at Huesca with the exception of Marc-André Ter Stegen, and the German goalkeeper is expected to start the second leg after facing the media's questions on Monday.

Gerard Pique stood out with his showing at centre-back on his first game at Old Trafford since leaving United for Barcelona in 2008, while Clement Lenglet, the centre-back who underpinned Sevilla's victory over United in the last-16 of last season's competition, is likely to get the nod over Samuel Umtiti to partner Pique.

Jordi Laba and Nelson Semedo are likely to retain their berths at full-back.

Predicted Barcelona line-up: Ter Stegen; Semedo, Pique, Lenglet, Alba; Coutinho, Busquets, Rakitic; O Dembele, Suarez, Messi
