Barcelona plot Joao Cancelo swap deal and more Man City transfer rumours

Barcelona are interested in signing Manchester City defender Joao Cancelo and are prepared to offer Nelson Semedo in exchange, according to reports.

Cancelo joined the Blues from Juventus in the summer but has endured a difficult first season in England, starting just eight games in the Premier League.

His lack of appearances under Pep Guardiola has led to speculation regarding his long-term future at the club and The Telegraph report Barcelona are interested in the 25-year-old.

With revenues plummeting due to the current coronavirus pandemic, they believe Barcelona are lining up swap deals and are willing to offer Semedo to City in exchange for the Portugal international.

Semedo has made 21 La Liga appearances for the Spanish side this year and has featured at both right and left back.

His current contract with Barcelona is set to expire in 2022 and reports in Spain suggest the club have told him to sign a new deal or leave.

Elsewhere, City have been linked with a move for AC Milan defender Theo Hernandez.

The defender joined the Serie A side from Real Madrid last summer and has made a blistering start to life in Italy, netting five league goals from left-back.

Marca claim City, Manchester United, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are all interested in the Frenchman.

It is believed Real Madrid do not have a buy-back clause in his contract and Milan are expecting bids for the 22-year-old.

Milan are reportedly keen to cash in on his good form by selling him this summer.
