Barcelona OUT of Matthijs de Ligt transfer race as Ajax superstar gives the come-on to three superclubs

Barcelona have suffered a hammer transfer blow - even if they must have suspected it was coming.

The Catalan giants now appear OUT of the race to land Matthijs de Ligt who has told them in no uncertain terms he does not want to move to the Nou Camp, according to a respected source.

Despite Barcelona having formally reached a deal with the superstar's club Ajax, de Ligt would prefer a move to either France, Italy or Germany because of cash.

According to to Cadena SER, the 19-year-old has been offered better terms by Paris Saint-Germain , Juventus AND Bayern Munich .

De Ligt is one of the most sought-after players in world football with top teams believing the stopper is one of the finest defenders to emerge in years.

The value in finding a rock-solid leader at the back has only been reinforced by Virgil van Dijk's massive impact with Liverpool since joining in January 2018.

Pundits and supporters reckon De Ligt has all the tools to replicate his compatriot and even challenge him as the world's best centre-back.
