Barcelona 'offer midfielder to Man City as part of Eric Garcia deal' and more transfer rumours

Barcelona have made a renewed offer to Manchester City for defender Eric Garcia and have included midfielder Rafinha Alcantara in the proposal, according to reports.

With less than four days of the transfer window remaining City are still keen to conduct more business after already signing Nathan Ake, Ferran Torres and Ruben Dias but there may be some more outgoings, too.

One player who could potentially leave before the October 5 deadline is centre-back Garcia, who has attracted keen interest from his former club Barcelona.

The Spaniard is in the final year of his contract at the Etihad and has made it clear that he won't be extending his stay, with a return to the Camp Nou his most likely destination.

While Barca are willing to wait to get Garcia on a free next summer they would prefer to sign him this year but have so far been unable to agree a fee with the Blues, who are understood to be demanding a fee similar to what they got for Leroy Sane who also had a year left on his deal.

However, the Catalonians have not given up on brining the asking price down and, according to RAC1, have made a second offer for the teenager.

It's claimed that they have offered €10million, with €8million up front and the further €2million in bonuses, as well as midfielder Rafinha, the brother of new Liverpool signing Thiago Alcantara.

The report states that City will not accept the deal, though, as want at least double the fee and don't want to take Rafinha as they already have enough midfielders.

Elsewhere in Barcelona's chase for Garcia, the La Liga side are reportedly hopeful of raising the funds to buy him by selling Jean-Clair Todibo.

Barca find themselves cash strapped this summer and manager Ronald Koeman has admitted he has to sell before he can buy any new players.

According to ESPN, they could sell Todibo, with Everton and Fulham said to be interested, for a similar price that City want for Garcia and then use the funds to sign him.
