Barcelona name Coutinho and Suarez in squad to face Liverpool - but there's one big absentee

Barcelona have named their 18-man squad to face Liverpool in the Champions League semi-final first leg.

The Catalan giants have included former Reds stars Philippe Coutinho and Luis Suarez in the roster with both potentially being selected for the starting XI.

Jurgen Klopp's side travel to the Camp Nou on Wednesday night knowing that a win or score-draw would put them in a phenomenal position to qualify for the final after the return leg at Anfield next Tuesday.

Of course they will have to be wary of the threat of global superstar Lionel Messi - who has also been included in the squad - and Ousmane Dembele.

Meanwhile the five-time European champions will have to break down the midfield and defence with players such as Ivan Rakitic, Sergio Busquets and Gerard Pique in the fold backed up by Marc Andre Ter Stegen in goal.

Liverpool's Champions League trip to Barcelona is perfect time to prove Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho wrong

Ernesto Valverde's 18-man squad : Ter Stegen, N. Semedo, Piqué, I. Rakitic, Sergio, Coutinho, Arthur, Suárez, Messi, O. Dembélé, Cillessen, Malcom, Lenglet, Jordi Alba, S. Roberto, Vidal, Umtiti and Aleñá.

Rafinha is still on the injury list, while Jean-Clair Todibo, Jeison Murillo, Kevin-Prince Boateng and Thomas Vermaelen are left out.
