Barcelona 'have not contacted Atletico Madrid' over signing Antoine Griezmann

Barcelona are yet to make contact with Atletico Madrid about Antoine Griezmann, according to Atleti president Enrique Cerezo.

The France international confirmed his intention to leave the club this summer, less than 12 months after committing his future to the club on a TV show, with Barca leading the race for his signature.

Standard Sport understands Barca’s interest in Griezmann has cooled amid opposition against his signing at board level and in the dressing room, with Lionel Messi and others favouring a move for Neymar.

Cerezo says Griezmann's next decision remains unknown but harbours no ill feeling towards the striker.

"No one from Barca has contacted me," Cerezo told Onda Cero.

He added: "Griezmann has been with for five years and done a splendid job. We have a good relationship. Nice, trustworthy.

"I hope wherever he goes he will be treated the same as he has been with us.

"I don't know where he's going, he didn't say. I don't have the slightest idea where he will go. I don't think anyone knows."
