Barcelona 'drop interest' in Man City ace Bernardo Silva and more transfer rumours

Barcelona have reportedly dropped their interest in Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva, despite being heavily linked with a move for the Portuguese international.

According to Sport, the 28-year-old is no longer a target for the Catalan side, with Xavi set to look at other players ahead of the upcoming January transfer window. The former Monaco ace was thought to be a target for the Spanish outfit last summer, but the Blues were adamant that the player was not leaving.

Silva is under contract until 2025, meaning if Barca do want to push through a deal, they will likely have to fork out a substantial transfer fee for the Portuguese star. The LaLiga club have signed a number of City stars in recent years, including Eric Garcia and Ferran Torres.

The midfielder, who has made 273 appearances for City, registering 50 goals and 56 assists, has won four Premier League titles, four EFL Cups and the FA Cup since arriving at the Etihad in 2017.

Elsewhere, O Jogo (via Sport Witness) have reported that City youngster Diego Rosa, who was on loan at Portuguese club Vizela, is set to join Brazilian side Bahia on loan for at least a year.

The 20-year-old was signed from Gremio for €6 million, but is yet to make a competitive appearance for the Blues since joining the club in 2021. He has made 11 appearances for Vizela so far this season - failing to register a goal or an assist.

The report adds that he would join fellow City youngster Kayky at Bahia, with the winger having been on loan at Pacos de Ferreira.
