Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti has spoken about his future aspirations.
The 26-year-old was reported to be one of Unai Emery's top targets during the summer as he searched for defensive reinforcements ahead of the new season.
David Luiz eventually joined from Chelsea on deadline day, after targets including Umtiti came and went.
Arsenal have since had a disappointing start to the season, a 2-2 draw with Southampton leaving them in eighth place in the table, eight points adrift of Chelsea in fourth place.
With defensive struggles being one of the problems for the Gunners, Emery may return for previous targets, with Umtiti likely to be high on the list.
However, the Barcelona man has named former club Lyon as a possible destination, in what could be a transfer blow to Arsenal.
"I'd like to be a coach. I take notes from those I've worked under, their training sessions and what they do," the defender said (via the Mirror ).
"Returning to Lyon is a possibility, as a player or as a coach."
Umtiti moved to the Nou Camp from Lyon in 2016, he played 170 times for the Ligue 1 club, helping them to win the French Cup and French Super Cup.
