Barcelona 'consider Richarlison transfer' as Everton face fight to keep hold of Brazilian star

Barcelona are reportedly considering a shock swoop for Everton's Brazilian forward Richarlison.

The 21-year-old has enjoyed a strong debut campaign with the Toffees following his £50 million move from Watford last summer.

And his performances have seemingly caught the eye of the Spanish giants, who are said to be weighing up a move.

Marca report that Barcelona director of football, Eric Abidal, is in the market for a centre-forward who can complement Luis Suarez, and Richarlison fits the bill.

It is thought the Nou Camp club haved turned their attentions to the Toffees frontman after going cold on other targets on their list.

Barca have been linked with a move for Marcus Rashford , but Marca suggest they've been put off the Englishman as he would be expensive.

Eintracht Frankfurt's Luka Jovic is said to prefer a move to Barca's rivals Real Madrid , whilst they missed out on Krzysztof Piatek who signed for AC Milan in January.

A move to Barcelona would complete quite a remarkable change in fortunes for Richarlison, who was called up to the senior Brazil squad in August.

He has netted 12 times in the Premier League for Everton this season, despite his side struggling for form.

The two clubs have developed a good working relationship, which has seen several Barca players such as Yerry Mina, Andre Gomes and Lucas Digne head to Goodison Park.

One stumbling block however could be Richarlison's lack of a European passport.

This would mean he would need to be registered as a non-EU player if he were to move to Barcelona - something which Abidal is not thought to be overly keen on.

A move to the Catalan club would no doubt be of interest to Richarlison, who would link up with international teammate Philippe Coutinho should he make the switch.
