Barcelona have confirmed they are to sign French talent Jean-Clair Todibo from Toulouse this summer.
Todibo has emerged as one of Ligue 1’s best defensive prospects this season with Barcelona moving quickly to secure his signature.
The 19-year-old’s current deal at Toulouse expires at the end of the season. He will become a Barcelona player on 1 July.
Todibo, who was born in French Guiana, has represented France at Under-20 level and has started 10 Ligue 1 matches at the heart of Toulouse’s defence this season – his first in senior football.
Barcelona view Todibo as “one of the most promising players in European football in his position."
The versatile defender has also been linked with moves to Juventus and Manchester City with Barcelona’s sporting director Eric Abidal believed to have played a major role in convincing his fellow Frenchman to move the Camp Nou.
Barcelona have already wrapped up a deal for another Frenchman for the summer with Adrian Rabiot signing a pre-contract deal last week.
