Barcelona coach Quique Setien says he hasn't thought about resignation: 'I'll enjoy it until the last day'

Barcelona coach Quique Setien says he has not thought about resignation after missing out on LaLiga and has vowed to 'enjoy it until the last day' at the Catalan club.

Setien met Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu for talks over his future on Friday after missing out on the title to fierce rivals Real Madrid and is staying in the job for now.

Asked in a press conference on Saturday if he had considered resigning, Setien said: "I have said before that I was going to enjoy it until the last day.

"I knew that things would not be easy. This profession has risks. I enjoy myself, despite the circumstances.

"Defeat is an option you have to face up to. I am not experiencing anything I haven't experienced before. I have never wanted to leave.

And when it was put to him that six months at Barca is more wearing than at other teams, he said: "I always think I'm going to stay with teams all my life.

"That's my mentality. I won't say that I'm the same now [as when I arrived], but I'm still happy for this opportunity.

"When I have to go, I will go."
