Barcelona coach Quique Setien 'convinced' Real Madrid will drop points in LaLiga title race

Barcelona coach Quique Setien says he remains 'convinced' title rivals Real Madrid will drop points in the race for LaLiga.

The champions lost their lead last Friday after a 0-0 draw at Sevilla allowed Los Blancos to move to the top of the table, courtesy of their superior head-to-head record in the two Clasico clashes this term.

But the two teams remain level on points with seven rounds remaining and speaking ahead of Saturday's game away to Celta Vigo, Setien was asked if he still thought – as he has claimed previously – that Madrid would slip up at some stage.

"Of course I'm still convinced," he said. "There are still seven games left to play and it's very difficult to win them all.

"We have drawn one. They haven't (dropped points) yet, but this is a game that surprises us sometimes.

"It's true that they are in a good moment, as are we, but anything can happen. And I'm confident they will make a mistake at some point."

Asked if he thought Barca had to win all their remaining matches to claim the title, he said: "If Madrid lose two games and we lose one, that would do.

"I don't think we will both win all our games, but our hope is to win them all."

Barca face two big tests over the next few days as they travel to Celta and are at home to Atletico next week.

"The next two games are important," Setien said. "But so were the previous ones."
