The countdown to transfer deadline day has already begun and Arsenal could be very busy.
Premier League teams have until 11pm on Friday to finalise their squads for the second half of the season and that means incomings as well as outgoings.
Whilst the Gunners are expected to bring in defender Pablo Mari from Flamengo, there's been talk of a shock exit for leading scorer and club captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
An injury to Luiz Suarez means Barcelona are on the lookout for a new centre-forward and Goal reported last week that they were eyeing an audacious loan move for the Gunners' no.14 ahead of deadline day.
Furthermore, The Telegraph, reported that while the north London outfit are expecting an approach from Barcelona for Aubameyang before deadline day, they will demand at least £50million to sell their key player.
And it would appear that the La Liga giants have got the message as president Josep Maria Bartomeu has delivered a transfer admission by confirming the club's interest in Valencia's Rodrigo.
"We don't talk about players from other teams. But [Rodrigo's] name is on the table of the coaches," Bartomeu confirmed, as per the Independent.
"And a replacement will arrive.
"I do not know whether it will be from Barcelona B or from outside [the club]. I like many players."
Bartomeu's transfer admission could be great news for Arsenal and head coach Mikel Arteta as it would seem Barcelona are turning their attentions away from Aubameyang.
As mentioned above, the 30-year-old is the Gunners' leading scorer this season and will be key to any success at the Emirates Stadium between now and May.
Arteta was quizzed about Barcelona's interest in Aubameyang following his side's FA Cup fourth round win over Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Monday night.
The Spaniard's response was clear as he his planning for the striker's return to action following suspension against Burnley this weekend which is a couple of days after the January transfer window closes.
"I want Auba here 100%," he told reporters. "I am so happy with him and I can't wait to have him available again after the suspension."
