Both Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland remained at their respective clubs after deadline day, despite continuous links away throughout the summer.
Mbappe has been targeted by La Liga giants Real Madrid, but there has also been tentative links to Premier League clubs Liverpool and Manchester City.
Meanwhile, Haaland rumours continue to circle with Manchester United, Liverpool, City and Chelsea the clubs reportedly interested in the striker.
However, recent reports from Spain suggest both could be heading for the Spanish capital next summer.

Barcelona's financial struggles are no secret after the shock transfer of Lionel Messi to Paris Saint-Germain last month.
The Catalan giants' economic vice-president Eduard Romeu believes Madrid could complete mega moves for both stars and that Barcelona have been 'left behind' in the transfer market.
Romeu told Cadena Cope : "It is possible (for both strikers to move to the Spanish capital) because Real Madrid is a great club which has great potential and strength, if we had done our homework in recent years we would be in the same situation as them.
"Florentino Pérez has managed the club in a way that we have to take our hat off to. At a business level, no one is going to question him."
Romeu isn't the first figure in Spanish football to make this prediction, as La Liga president Javier Tebas also thinks Los Blancos have the funds to purchase both players.
He told Cadena Cope : "They [Real Madrid] have sold €200 million worth of players. They have enough money to sign both [Kylian] Mbappe and [Erling] Haaland together.
"They have not lost money. On top of that, they have sold assets."
Real Madrid reportedly had a €200m (£171.7m) deadline-day bid for Mbappe knocked back by PSG, but the 22-year-old has entered the final year of his deal and could depart the French capital for free next summer.
On the other hand, it would likely take a sizeable fee to prise Haaland from Dortmund at the end of the season.
