Barcelona 'agree' on personal terms with Chelsea player and it's not Cesar Azpilicueta

Barcelona have agreed on personal terms with Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso if recent reports are to be believed.

The Blues face a busy summer transfer window, with major surgery required on their defence. Centre-backs Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger are set to leave on free transfers at the end of the month whilst Cesar Azpilicueta also continues to be linked with a move away.

Barcelona are said to be interested in the versatile maestro but it is another Spaniard that plays for Chelsea that they have agreed personal terms with, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano. Romano has claimed that the Blaugrana are keen to sign wingback Alonso this summer but are indeed still interested in bringing his compatriot to the Nou Camp as well.

The Italian tweeted: "Barcelona are still working on Marcos Alonso deal. No doubts on player side: potential agreement ready on personal terms with Barça, still waiting to find solution with Chelsea.

"Barça are also hoping to receive final answer for Cesar Azpilicueta soon." This comes after the former Sunderland star claimed that his future isn't completely up to him.

Speaking to Onda Cero, he said: "I have one more year of my contract. I have already said that I would like it, but in the end it does not depend entirely on me.

"It is clear that the desire to one day play in Spain is there. I’ve played 50 games, we’ve been world champions, we’ve had bad luck in the cup finals.

"I can’t complain about anything at Chelsea but the desire to play in Spain is there. It doesn’t depend entirely on me and I’m happy at Chelsea, I’m sincere.”
