Barcelona ace Arturo Vidal explains why he fell out with Claudio Bravo and won't speak to Man City star

Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal has revealed his ongoing feud with Manchester City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo stems from issues before the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Chile were cruising towards qualification but a 3-0 defeat to Brazil, with Gabriel Jesus getting on the scoresheet, ensured they missed out on a place in the tournament.

Vidal wasn't present in the side that was defeated and the pair haven't been named in the same squad together until the recent friendly win against Guinea.

The former Juventus midfielder has lifted the lid on why his relationship with the Man City shot stopper deteriorated during an interview with Chilean outlet El Mercurio.

"[Claudio] Bravo's wife accused us of partying during the World Cup in Russia and not training because of drunkenness," Vidal said.

"One of the two of us must take a step forward and it wasn't me, for that reason I didn't make any problems and we both trained individually.

"He gave everything, as did I, the team could see that.

"We're not friends, nor will we be, but the national team is the most important thing."

Vidal revealed that he no longer speaks to Bravo as a result.

He added: "I have said things [to Bravo] and I don't have any reason to say them in the press. I am man enough to say things face to face.

"I don't know if he understood what I said, but we haven't spoken again since then."
