LUCKNOW: As a preemptive measure to avoid a repeat of the July incident where a man participating in a Muharram procession sustained burn injuries when the "tazia" caught fire after coming in contact with a high-tension wire, the Lucknow Electricity Supply Administration (Lesa) on Wednesday announced that the power supply in the selected areas, where the Barawafat processions would be held, will remain affected for five hours.
Lesa officials, on Wednesday, issued a circular informing consumers that the power supply in areas such as Old Haiderganj, Bhadeva, Aishbagh Road, and Anupam Nagar will be impacted as the power supply to 11 KV overhead wires will be suspended.
“Aishbagh Cabin and Victoria 2 fed from 33/11 KV Aishbagh sub-station and Turiaganj and Victoria fed from 33/11 KV Talkatora sub-station will remain affected on account of Barawafat procession as we want to avoid any untoward incident,” said a Lesa official.
Likewise, power supply in areas including Aminabad, Nazirabad, Mohan Market, and Moulviganj will also remain affected for the same reason for five hours.
“The supply of all 11 KV feeders fed from Aminabad sub-station will also be completely or partially disrupted from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm,” the official added.
