Just because the NBA can’t have an arena full of real fans doesn’t mean a bunch of really famous people can’t “attend” the 2020 NBA Finals.
Thanks to technology (which we tried out at the beginning of the NBA playoffs) through Microsoft Teams, fans of NBA franchises were able to watch the game while “sitting” next to each other in virtual seats. They could be seen inside the arena, and names from Lil Wayne to Halsey have been “inside” the bubble.
President Barack Obama was among the big names in attendance virtually on Thursday and he was seated next to Shaquille O’Neal, who was next to Robin Roberts:
