Barack Obama followed Illawarra Hawks on Twitter after LaMelo Ball announcement

After LaMelo Ball announced his decision to sign with the Illawarra Hawks of the Australian National Basketball League (NBL) on Sunday, the team gained thousands of new fans from all across the United States, including the 44th president of the free world, Barack Obama.

The Hawks posted a video on Twitter to celebrate their newest — and arguably most famous — follower and, most importantly, their newest fan:

Obama is a known fan of basketball and was even in attendance for Game 2 of the NBA Finals earlier this month. In other words, don’t be surprised if Obama hops on a plane to Wollongong, New South Wales to see LaMelo Ball and the Hawks play at some point during next season.
