Barabanki crash: 11 critical patients admitted to KGMU trauma centre

LUCKNOW: Eleven of the critically injured in the Barabanki accident early Wednesday were brought to the emergency and trauma care services of KGMU. At least 18 labourers died after a truck collided with a Bihar-bound double-decker bus.

Of those admitted in trauma centre, four have suffered serious injuries, including two with orthopaedic injuries and two others with head and spine injuries.

State health minister Jai Pratap Singh, urban development minister Ashutosh Tandon and irrigation and water resources minister Mahendra Singh visited the injured at KGMU.

“Most patients are from Bihar and are in the age-group of 20-60. Four have serious injuries while others suffered minor wounds,” said head of trauma surgery department. The ministers spoke to patients and assured them of all medical help. They told the victims not to feel disheartened that they are away from home and the UP government will take care of them,” Prof Sandeep Tiwari.
