A bar in Nottingham city centre has announced it will be closing temporarily after one of its employees tested positive for coronavirus.
Hockley's 31K posted the news on their Facebook page, stating that both the cocktail bar and its neighbouring cafe, Yolk, will be closed for "at least three days".
The part-time staff member had been self-isolating since the onset of symptoms, but had received a positive Covid-19 test result, prompting the closure.
The bar is planning to isolate and test anyone else who may have symptoms and give the venue a deep clean.
The post read: "Howdy folks x.
"We'll be closing our doors for a couple of days after a part-time member of our team - who has been in isolation since the onset of symptoms - returned a positive COVID-19 test.
"As such, we've taken the precautionary measure to close both 31K and Yolk (a closure which will be in place for at least the next 3 days: giving us chance to isolate and test anyone else in the team who may develop symptoms, as well as retreat the entire venue with electrostatic disinfectant for a second time).
"Before we even consider reopening, it’s of paramount importance to us that we ensure our staff, customers and venue all remain safe.
"Frustrating, we know, but we feel the need to be diligent, conscientious and responsible and plan to exhaust every option available to us to get our doors back open safely."
It comes as a bar in West Bridgford receiving a hefty fine for failing to comply with coronavirus regulations.
Also, yesterday it was confirmed a staff member at Bierkeller in Friar Line had also tested positive for Covid-19, leading the venue to close.
