Singer-composer Bappi Lahiri breathed his last on Tuesday night at the age of 69. His family announced that the Disco King’s funeral will take place today as his son, Bappa has already arrived in Mumbai from Los Angeles for the last rites.

The latest visual outside Lahiri’s residence suggests that preparations for his final journey are currently going on in full swing. The mortal remains of the singer were being taken for the last rites.

Celebrities, family members and loved ones are also reaching the venue to pay their last tribute to the singer.

The rituals for the last rites reportedly started at 9 am. Soon his mortal remains will be taken from his residence to the Vile Parle cremation ground where friends and family will bid their goodbye to the singer one last time. Post last rituals, he will be cremated at around 10 am.

Bappi Lahiri’s demise has been a shock to the entire nation. The cause behind his death is said to be multiple health complications and Obstructive Sleep Apnea. "He had been admitted to the hospital for a month and was discharged on Monday. But his health deteriorated on Tuesday and his family called for a doctor to visit their home, after which he was brought to the hospital," Dr Joshi who treated the veteran singer told reporters.

On the work front, Bappi Lahiri has over 5000 songs under his credit for more than 500 films. He last worked on Bollywood song 'Bhankas' for Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor starrer 'Baaghi 3'.
